For this blog post I decided to do rock and roll. I listen to machine gun Kelly and I am not exactly sure what genre that would go under but maybe like rock. This genre originated in the United States. the typical instruments that make up rock is and electric guitar and electric drum. When I think of rock and roll I think of hard core instruments. When I learn a specific topic I always want to know what the first is. in this case I wanted to learn what the first ever rock and roll song was . The first ever rock and roll song was rocket 88 written by Ike turner.
Rock and roll started by at the time of the Great Migration. Africans were brought to the cities near the north when soon they would make would start making music. As more shows were being performed and the crowd grew and grew. The person who started rock and roll was Chucky Berry, people claimed that he was the one who started it because he had all of the elements together that fit the category of rock and roll. First ever rock and roll song that I remember is dead or alive back in elementary school. I remember it being so fun to listen to that song and sing it in the car or at school while we play guitar band.

Hi Emilee Claire! I knew a little bit about rock and roll because of my dad. Everywhere we would go, I swear he would only listen to rock and roll. So, at a young age I started to like it. I know like a lot of the older rock and roll songs and he had a big impact in my music taste. I really felt that about wanted dead or alive!! Thank you for helping me gain more information on Rock & Roll.
ReplyDeleteHey Emilee Claire! Thank you so much for sharing your love for Machine Gun Kelly and then branching out into rock and roll! I also like some of Machine Gun Kelly's songs, so thank you for looking into the connections! Rock and roll I feel like is a pretty broad spectrum of music, and it is different for everyone.
ReplyDeleteHey Emilee Claire, I love your blog. It was very personal. I listen to machine gun Kelly occasionally, but I think the only way to describe the gerne of music he makes is rock and roll with pop influence and rap. He is a very talented and complex artist. Good job.
ReplyDeleteI've been interested in some of MGK's music but I never got too into it so I liked to see the connections here and learn more about him. I was also just very interested to learn more about the whole rock and roll genre.
