interview
For this blog I chose to do my mom. My mom was born in the mid 1960”s so that is when all the good songs were out. I asked my mom what was her first memory of music? She said “My first memory of music is almost hard to believe but I have a memory of me standing in my crib around age 1 1/2 and a single of Barbara Ann by The Beach Boys playing on a small record player on a dresser.” i found that really fascinating to hear that from my mom to learn something from her. The next question I asked her was What was your first experience with music? She said “My little xylophone “. I never thought to ask my mom that question and it was an interesting thing to learn. I asked her next How did music impact your childhood?
She said that music was everywhere in my childhood. My parents were divorced when I was 3 and if I heard a song while I was with my dad, which was pretty much a given, I would relive that memory of us when I heard the song again when we were apart. When my mom was young she was real close with her dad.
Secondly I asked her what did your parents think of the music you listened to as a kid? She said my dad was always interested in what I listen to and gave it a chance. No guarantee that he liked Flock of Seagulls or Culture Club but he never dismissed them. When my mom used to tell me stories about her being in the choir.
Growing up i used to always listen to my mom and the songs she would listen to. In a long time it was early 2000 songs . Most of the times it would be like the beatles. Some of the songs she listen to when she was younger was Flock of Seagulls or Culture Club.
I would have to agree the 1960's had some really nice bangers that still hold to this day. I also had a little toy xylophone when i was a kid i didn't really play with it but i had one. I enjoyed the song by a flock of seagles that you have in the blog, i knew it before the blog but i love hearing it.
